pgdba.dev exists to help operators build, prove, and retain the judgement production PostgreSQL work demands. The certification creates credible career evidence; the returning toolkit keeps that evidence useful through refresh practice and real-work reference.
Mission and access
Free to the learner
The production-operator certification and its supporting runbooks, labs, incident drills, and diagnostic SQL are free to the learner. Private learner records support durable progress and credential issuance without turning the learning journey into a lead form.
Course access requires sign-in so module results can be saved and certificates can use the name supplied by the account. The site never asks for a separate certificate name during a lesson or assessment.
The credential is independent from the PostgreSQL project, non-proctored, and does not claim accreditation, official endorsement, or guaranteed employment. Its value comes from transparent competencies, applied safety gates, and learner-controlled verification.
Authorship
The MyDBA relationship
pgdba.dev and MyDBA are separate in purpose. This site is an independent certification and operator toolkit; MyDBA is a PostgreSQL monitoring tool. It appears only where continuous monitoring is a relevant option after the full manual workflow has been taught.

Maintenance
Corrections and updates
Technical claims are checked against PostgreSQL documentation and carry version caveats when behavior changes across supported releases. Review dates are visible instead of implying that operational advice is timeless.
A correction should identify the claim, PostgreSQL version, and the strongest reproducible evidence. Updates favor upstream documentation, source behavior, and measured production evidence over received wisdom.
